The 8th Annual Viola's Day Fest!

As the summer draws close we are readying ourselves for our traditional Viola's day happening. The eighth year already, phew! This time we celebrate our own special day a a tad early since due to some compelling reasons the festivities at good old Semifinal will take place on Viola's day eve, Saturday June 2nd. But at least the last of evening's three sets will take place on a proper date.

This year the theme of our traditional cover set is ONE HIT WONDERS. They have always loomed in the horizon of our endless cover odyssey and we have known to confront them eventually so why not now? So at last we'll perform a bunch of interpretations of some unforgettable songs from somewhat more forgettable artists. Several decades, several languages, several hair-raising moments without a doubt.

The second set will feature seldom or never heard slower Viola tearjerkers and the evening concludes with a more regular faster and danceable set. We are also joined by our talented friends Tuomas Ilmavirta (Ultramariini) and Arttu Tolonen (Giant Robot, Black Audio, etc), both of whom also made contributions to our Wonderabilia album.

The first set, that being the cover one, starts at 22.30. Our regular disc jockey troops DJ Makelove and Some Other Guy will play the records before, in-between and after. Tickets cost 6 euros (advance tickets are available from Tiketti).
