there's a present by the tree
try not to open it before I'm gone
I'll catch a flight on Christmas night
and watch the snow fall over towns
tiny lives like mine wrapped in sweet dreams

it's the perfect time to show what means
more to you than plastic trees
it's the perfect time to show if you still care

looking for the snowy dream
trying to find some sign that Christmas still means
to catch a sight on Christmas night
of empathy for those in plight
tiny drop of hope in this cold sea

all ends well in Bedford Falls
in Halloweentown, Kingston Falls
all ends well and then the credits roll

angel hair on Christmas trees
children singing those sad songs that will melt your heart
with eyes so bright that Christmas night
will be bathing in their light
and I can find my way back home again

what does Christmas really mean
it's such a sweet dream

Lost Christmas

The night is long, drags slowly in snow
weary reflection in the show window
the streets are sleeping, there's no one outside
you're facing the loneliest night of your life
but suddenly she appears from the breeze
with a soft warm voice she quietly speaks:

"the night is full of beautiful lights
don't worry baby, you'll reach them in time
lost Christmas is a place you can find
don't worry baby, you'll get there tonight"

lost for ages, yet somewhere near
just close your eyes and she'll take you there
where comfort and grace will drown the plight
of trying to stay warm on Christmas night
how did all this got so far during the years
her soothing words still ring in your ears:

and when I woke up, I was in a beautifull hall, full of light
soft snow strangely falling under crystal chandeliers
and she was there, dancing...
